Cookies Policy
This Cookie Policy explains how 1596929 B.C. Ltd. (doing business as Cogsr) (“Cogsr,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) uses cookies and similar tracking technologies on cogsr.com and within the Cogsr web application. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy (cogsr.com/privacy) and Terms of Service (cogsr.com/terms).
1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files that a website places on your browser or device when you visit. They allow the site to recognize your browser, remember your preferences, and understand how you use the service. Cookies can be set by the site you are visiting (“first-party cookies”) or by third-party services operating on that site (“third-party cookies”).
Cookies can also be classified by how long they last:
- Session cookies are temporary and are deleted when you close your browser.
- Persistent cookies remain on your device for a set period or until you delete them.
2. How We Use Cookies
We use cookies for the following purposes:
- Essential functionality — Keeping you logged in, maintaining your session, and ensuring the application works correctly
- Preferences — Remembering your settings and display preferences
- Analytics and performance — Understanding how the product is used so we can improve it
- Security — Detecting and preventing fraud, unauthorized access, and abuse
We do not use cookies for advertising, cross-context behavioral advertising, retargeting, or any form of ad tracking.
3. Cookies We Use
The table below lists the cookies currently in use on Cogsr. We update this table when our cookie usage changes.

4. How to Manage Cookies
4.1 Browser Settings
Most browsers allow you to control cookies through their settings. You can typically:
- View what cookies are stored on your device
- Delete individual cookies or all cookies
- Block third-party cookies
- Block all cookies from specific sites
- Block all cookies entirely (though this will prevent you from using most web applications, including Cogsr)
For instructions, consult your browser’s help documentation:
- Chrome: Settings > Privacy and Security > Cookies and other site data
- Firefox: Settings > Privacy & Security > Cookies and Site Data
- Safari: Preferences > Privacy > Manage Website Data
- Edge: Settings > Cookies and site permissions > Manage and delete cookies
4.2 Opt Out of Analytics
If you want to use Cogsr but opt out of analytics tracking, you can use browser extensions that block analytics scripts (such as uBlock Origin), or contact us at support@cogsr.com and we will disable PostHog and Clarity tracking for your account. You can also opt out of Microsoft Clarity specifically via the Microsoft privacy dashboard.
4.3 Impact of Disabling Cookies
If you disable strictly necessary cookies, you will not be able to log in or use the Cogsr application. If you disable preference cookies, you may need to re-enter settings each session. If you disable analytics cookies, there is no impact on functionality — we simply won’t collect usage data from your sessions.
5. Global Privacy Control and Opt-Out Signals
If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal or other recognized universal opt-out preference signal, we treat that signal as a valid request to opt out of any “sale” or “sharing” of personal information, including through cookies. Since we do not sell or share personal information for advertising, this signal primarily serves as confirmation that no such activity occurs.
We recognize and process GPC signals in accordance with the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), the Colorado Privacy Act, the Connecticut Data Privacy Act, and other US state privacy laws that require recognition of universal opt-out mechanisms.
6. Do Not Track
Some browsers offer a “Do Not Track” (DNT) setting. There is no universally accepted standard for how websites should respond to DNT signals. We do not currently alter our data collection practices in response to DNT signals because we do not engage in cross-site tracking or behavioral advertising. We do, however, honor GPC signals as described in Section 5.
7. Similar Technologies
In addition to cookies, we may use the following related technologies:
- Local storage — Used to store application state and preferences locally in your browser for performance. Local storage data does not expire automatically but can be cleared through your browser settings.
- Session storage — Similar to local storage but is cleared when you close your browser tab. Used for temporary application state during your session.
We do not use web beacons (tracking pixels), fingerprinting techniques, or any other tracking technology for advertising or cross-site tracking purposes.
8. Third-Party Cookies
The third-party cookies on Cogsr are set by PostHog (product analytics and session recordings) and Microsoft Clarity (session recordings and heatmaps). We do not allow advertising networks, social media platforms, or any other third parties to set cookies on our site.
PostHog's privacy practices are governed by their own privacy policy, and we have a data processing agreement with PostHog that restricts their use of data collected through our Service. Microsoft Clarity operates under Microsoft's privacy policy; data collected is used solely for the session recording and heatmap features we have enabled and is not used by Microsoft for advertising.
9. Cookie Policy for California Residents
Under the CCPA/CPRA, cookies that collect personal information are subject to disclosure requirements. We disclose the following:
- We collect identifiers (device identifiers, IP address) and internet activity information (pages visited, features used) through cookies
- We use this information for the business purposes described in Section 2 of this policy
- We do not sell personal information collected through cookies
- We do not share personal information collected through cookies for cross-context behavioral advertising
- We do not use cookies to collect Sensitive Personal Information
For more information about your California privacy rights, see Section 9.3 of our Privacy Policy.
10. Changes to This Cookie Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our technology, legal requirements, or business practices. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last Updated” date and notify you through a banner on our website or an in-app notification.
We review our cookie usage at least annually and update the cookie table in Section 3 accordingly.
